Avis and the Environment
This is only a part of Avis company investment to the environment protection projects. When it comes to the environment, as in every area of our business, We Try Harder. In spring of 2004 Avis Lithuania decided to have a hand in preserving environment and started social event "Avis environment friendly". During two years more than 6 thousands saplings were planted in 4 (are) territory which was delivered to us by Vilnius forest government. "The society of Lithuania is still very passive towards environment protection question"- says Vilniaus wood forester Mr. R. Ribaciauskas. Differently than in all Europe countries foresters popularize environment protection without any help. For this reason Avis initiative is very important and useful. We believe that Avis will be lead example for other companies and more and more companies will be interested in air contamination reduction. Later Avis friendship with nature spread and moved to the seashore. Avis Lithuania collective made a help reach for Seashore regional park and armed with trash bags cleaned one of the most beautiful and often visited but badly contaminated seashore corner - "Olando cap" which is in Karklė town. Also they cleaned all the seashore area between Karklė and Kukuliškiai town. This initiative became the tradition |
