Added Important Information
Airport surcharge: an airport surcharge of 500.00 TUL (plus 20% VAT) per rent will be applied to rentals checking out from airport locations.
No show / late cancellation fees: applicable to all reservations for group K so all the reservation and requests for this group must include the full credit card number and address of the customer. The fees do not apply for cancellations made 24 hours prior to check out time. It costs EUR 100.00 (plus 18% VAT) for late cancellations and no show fee.
The reserved vehicle will be delivered to you, checking your credit limits (credibility, credit score) in our offices. In prepaid reservations, if your credit limit is not deemed appropriate, the vehicle rental fee will be returned to you in 7-14 days. Credit limit checks will be performed in our offices, giving you information.
Turkish citizens who will rent a vehicle with a driver's license issued in a foreign country acknowledge and undertake that they are able to drive in Turkey only depending on the terms and conditions stated below:
1) Starting from the date of entrance to Turkey, a vehicle can be driven for maximum 1 year with a driver's license issued in a foreign country.
2) Those who have been in Turkey for more than six months must keep with them a Turkish translation of their driver's license certified from a foreign diplomatic representation or a notary public at all times while driving, along with the license itself.
3) To be able to drive in Turkey after one year of residency, the driver's license issued abroad must be substituted with a Turkish driver's license.
As for foreigners who will rent a vehicle in Turkey, they acknowledge and undertake the terms and conditions below to be able to drive in Turkey with their driver's license issued abroad:
1) Starting from the date of entrance to Turkey, a vehicle can be driven for maximum 6 months with a driver's license issued in a foreign country.
2) To be able to drive in Turkey after six months of residency, the driver's license issued abroad must be substituted with a Turkish driver's license.
The substitution of foreign driver's licenses with a Turkish driver's license is subjected to the below-mentioned procedures and principles, without prejudice to any relevant law in effect and to bilateral and multilateral agreement provisions:
a) Application may be made to any traffic registry institution
b) Information and documents to be presented during application are determined by the General Directorate of Security.
c) For those who will issue a driver's license, the conditions stated in Law No. 2918 Art. 41 and pertaining to non-convictedness, age, education and health are exactly required, except for the training and test condition.
d) If deemed necessary, an investigation may be carried out on the authenticity of the driver's license via the Turkish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Turkish representations abroad.
Additional Driver Information
Additional driver fee is 62.00 TUL per day for each driver (prices excl. VAT).
Age Requirements
The minimum age must be 19 for A, B, N, F car groups, and 23 for O, P, 25 for H, D, J, I car groups, and 27 for G, L, K, E, C, M car groups.
Any renter between 19 & 21 years old is subjected to young driver fee and can only rent A, B, N, F car groups. Any renter between 21 & 23 years old is subjected to young driver fee and can only rent O, P car groups. Any renter between 23 & 25 years old is subjected to young driver fee and can only rent H, D, J car groups. Any renter between 25 & 27 years old is subjected to young driver fee and can only rent G,C, E, M, L, K car groups. Young driver fee is TUL 330.00 daily (prices excl. VAT).
Drivers License and ID Requirements
Renters and additonal drivers must have held a full driving licence for;
- A minimum of one year for A, B, N, F car groups,
- A minimum of two years for O, P, H, D, J, I car groups,
- A minimum of three years for G,C, E, K, L, M car groups. Each driver must show photographic proof of identity or their passport at the start of the rental. All drivers must present a full and valid driving licence which has been held for at least 1 year. The licence must be valid for use in the renting country.
International customers must show their passport at the begining of their rental. Otherwise due to Turkish regulation and police restrictions car wouldnt be provided. If your licence is in non-roman alphabet you must provide an International Driving Licence.
International driving licence is required for non-Roman alphabet licence holders.
Payment Options
Pay on arrival or Pre-payment
Estimated rental charge plus a security deposit (refundable) and credit card is required.
Credit Card Requirements
All major credit cards and charge cards are accepted. Debit cards and GEB Billing Credit Cards are not accepted.
Collecting and Returning Your Vehicle
If the renter returns the vehicle late by 59 min., no fee is applied. If the delay exceeds 59 min. 1 day rental price will be charged.
After Hours Information
Cancellations and No Show Charges
Late cancellation fee is applicaple only for prepaid reservations.
If the renter cancels the prepaid reservation up to 24 hours prior to the check-out time, whole payment will be refunded.
If the renter cancels 24 hours prior to check out time; 1 day rental fee is charged for 1-3 days reservations, 2 day rental fee is charged for 4-7 days reservations, 20% of prepaid amount is charged for 8+ days reservations.
Refund cannot be done for any prepaid reservation apart from mentioned conditions in this clause.
Taking Your Vehicle Outside the Country
Taking your vehicle outside the country is prohibited.
Delivery and Collection
Istanbul Ataturk, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, Istanbul New Airport, Ankara Esenboga, Izmir Adnan Menderes and Antalya International airport offices are operating 7 days - 24 hours.
Cars cannot be returned after business hours to other offices. Please check operating hours while making a reservation.
One Way Rentals
One way fee is applicable for all locations. See reservations screen for details.
Outside country: one way rentals are not permitted.
Waiver and Protection Options
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
If Collison Damage Waiver is declined, the customer is responsible for the full value of the vehicle. The responsibility can be reduced to 55000.00 TUL for economic groups/ differs between 55000.00 TUL and 260000.00 TUL for remaining car groups by purchasing CDW.
Responsibility of damage may also be reduced to zero if renter also purchase SCDW together with the CDW and TP.
SUPER Collision Damage Waiver (Super CDW)
140.00 TUL per day for A, B, N, F car groups; 180.00 TUL per day for O, P car group, 230.00 TUL for D, J, H car groups, 290.00 TUL for G,C,L,I,M car groups; 360.00 TUL per day for E car group; 510.00 TUL per day for K car group; reduces excess to ZERO (prices excl VAT)
Theft Protection (TP)
If TP is declined, the customer is responsible for the full value of the vehicle. The responsibility can be reduced to 55000.00 TUL for economic groups/ differs between 55000.00 TUL and 260000.00 TUL for remaining car groups
If a theft protection is purchased, responsibility may also be reduced to zero if renter also purchase SCDW together with the CDW, TP and STP.
SUPER Theft Protection (STP)
110.00 TUL per day for A, B, N, F car groups; 140.00 TUL per day for O,P car group, 180.00 TUL for D, J, H car groups, 230.00 TUL for G,C,L,I,M car groups; 280.00 TUL per day for E car group; 410.00 TUL per day for K car group; reduces excess to ZERO (prices excl VAT)
Security Deposit (Compulsory)
A security deposit is required at the start of a rental of 3000.00 TUL for A, B, N, F car groups, 3500.00 TUL for O, P car groups, 4000.00 TUL for H, D, J car groups, 5500 TUL for G,C,E,M,L car groups, 6000 TUL for I car group, 10000 TUL for K car group in credit cards.
The security deposit will be refunded to the renter following the end of the rental and safe return of the vehicle, confirmation that no traffic contraventions have been applied during the rental.
Security deposit may take up to 15 days to be refunded.
PAI - Personal Accident Insurance
66.00 TUL+TAX per day
This coverage provides a compensation of 25000.00 TUL in case of permanent injury or death for each person in the rented car. Medical expenses are not included in this coverage.
Special Equipment
Child seats: TUL 118.00 per day. (VAT is not included)
Winter tyre: 95 TUL/day, max 1425 TUL/rental for B,N,F,A,O,P car groups, 165 TUL/day, max 2475 TUL/rental for G,H,D,J,C,E,M,L,I car groups, 350 TUL/day, max 5250 TL/rental for K car group.(VAT is not included)
Fuel charges
All cars are delivered to customers with full tank of gas and needs to be returned with full tank of gas. Any missing amount of gas is charged based on local oil prices of the return date plus service charge. (%35 of missing amount)
Fines
Renters are financially responsible to pay all fines which are occured during the rental contract with regardless the time fine is issued. AVIS reserves the right for claiming a service fee related to traffic tickets.

Mileage
Most rental rates include either unlimited mileage or a pre-designated number of included kilometers/miles per day/week/month as part of the rate structure. If you exceed the number of pre-designated kilometers, a mileage charge will apply for the additional kilometers/miles driven. If there is a mileage allowance in conjunction with an additional mileage charge, you will be advised at the time you request your rate information.
