If you wish to make a booking by telephone or are experiencing problems booking online please call our International Reservations Centre on 0844 581 0147.




Query/ Complaint Resolution - Post Rental

In the event you have an issue with your rental vehicle that was not resolved prior to your returning it, our Customer Service Department will deal with your query/complaint. (excluding issues relating to vehicle damage in the UK)

Response Times

Your query/complaint will be answered by one of our customer service agents and if it cannot be resolved immediately we aim to contact you within

5 working days, for UK rentals
15 working days, for foreign rentals *
22 working days for issues with damage charges on foreign rentals *

*Where investigation with the foreign country is necessary
    If you are unhappy with the final response to your query/complaint you may ask to have your case reviewed by a Customer Services Supervisor. S/he will respond to you within 2 working days of the request for a review.
      If the Customer Services Supervisor is unable to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, the case shall be finally reviewed by the Head of Customer Services within 5 working days.

      BVRLA

      In the unlikely event that you remain unhappy with the outcome of your query/complaint you may refer it to the BVRLA, for arbitration. This service is available and binding in relation to UK rentals. The BVRLA are usually happy to comment on the resolution offered on foreign rentals and although these comments are not binding upon Avis, we are usually guided by their recommendation.
